Virgil, known as the “the dock guy”, successfully manages all the fleets that
come in and out of the Missouri Street loading dock at Lucas Oil Stadium.
A CSC Indianapolis employee since 2002, Virgil has been working with

contribution, the Colts presented Virgil with a No. 80 jersey and a birthday
cake. Additionally, they renamed the dock in his honor and posted a sign
that now reads “Welcome to the Virgil L. Sanders Missouri Street Dock.” The
Mayor of Indianapolis, Greg Ballard, even declared Sunday, September 28,
2014 “Virgil Sanders Day” in Indianapolis.
“Treat every job, regardless of what it is, as a number one job. In other

NEW YORK CITY, NY - New York City Branch
Manager Mike Fogel joined the CSC Team in 2011
after graduating from Florida State University
with a degree in Applied Economics. While Mike
has always led a healthy lifestyle, an extremely
cold winter in New York combined with working
various events across the country left him with
little time to exercise and eat nutritiously. After
returning from CSC’s Corporate Meetings in
May, Mike was determined to get back into
shape. Teaming up with his supportive fiancé,
Meghan, they made a pact to keep each other
focused on healthy choices. Within two months,
Mike lost 15 pounds as a result of maintaining a
healthy diet consisting mostly of protein, fruits,
and vegetables and exercising five to six days
per week.
Motivated by his results, Mike organized a team to participate in the Rugged Maniac 5k where they trained for
six weeks to prepare for the race. Mike has also joined a Flag Football League and is currently gearing up for
the Spartan Race at Citi Field in May 2015. Mike proved that it’s possible to maintain an active and balanced
lifestyle while also working hard as his New York branch office recently wrapped up a grueling two months
providing security for the 2014 US Open Tennis Championships.
“Working out is not always the most exciting thing in the world, but
utilizing team sports is a great way to work out, meet new friends,
and have fun.”

TomorrowWorld Returns
CHATTAHOOCHEE HILLS, GA - TomorrowWorld, an
international edition of Belgium’s annual Tomorrowland
Festival, took place for the second consecutive year at
Bouckaert Farm in Chattahoochee Hills, September 2628. Welcoming over 140,000 guests from more than 75
countries, TomorrowWorld’s lineup featured world-class
DJ’s including Davide Guetta, Calvin Harris, and Alesso.
CSC Atlanta staffed approximately 360 employees
each day and provided security coverage for the stage,
barricades, and perimeter, as well as guest services in
the VIP areas. CSC’s services were provided under the
direction of Jacob Smid, North America Managing Director
TomorrowWorld
for SFX Entertainment, Inc. CSC’s team not only helped to
facilitate the security and safety of festival attendees, but also brought enthusiasm to match the event. One
particular employee, John Bass, showed incredible enthusiasm and was named “employee of the event” by
Greg Overstreet, CSC Atlanta Branch Manager.
“It was an amazing experience and I loved every minute of it. I want to bring the Georgia Dome
level of customer service and energy to every event I work no matter what or where the event
is. Working the loading dock for the Falcons and the Georgia Dome has taught me to always be
energetic, work hard, and provide great service everywhere I work, no matter what I am asked
to do. It was a privilege to serve these guests.”

Founder’s Spotlight: Q&A with CSC Founder/CEO, Damon Zumwalt
1.) CSC was originally named “Peace Power”. How did
you decide on its current name, “Contemporary Services
Corporation”?
As Peace Power expanded into the full spectrum of crowd
management, beyond just a rock and roll peer group security
company, it was time to choose a name that was a bit more
mainstream. The new name describes what is necessary to be
the best - continue to evolve and stay “Contemporary”!
2.) If you hadn’t founded CSC, what other profession might you
have pursued?
I entered UCLA as a Spanish major with a Physical Education
minor and had plans to eventually coach and teach. However,
a sports injury derailed those plans so I changed my major to
Theatre and planned to pursue acting. I am sure that I would
have been great at playing the bad guy!
3.) You founded CSC while attending UCLA. How did you
manage to balance school, football, and wrestling while building
a company?
Unfortunately there had to be compromises. It isn’t the best
training practice to work a rock show past midnight the night
before a wrestling match, but I made it work for a few years!
Damon Zumwalt, Founder/CEO
Damon Zumwalt, Founder/CEO
4.) What are your top three most memorable events for which CSC has provided services?
While providing services for approximately 10,000 events each year, it is impossible to name just three. It
is a privilege to work the greatest events in the world, and there is nothing like the energy of a large crowd,
whether it’s at a great concert, the Super Bowl, World Cup or World Championship Basketball, Baseball,
Hockey, Ryder Cup or US OPEN. All bring incredible memories that some are only able to experience once
in a lifetime; however, there’s not an event that rivals the Olympic games in terms of the emotion involved.
5.) CSC’s International Division has thus far provided services for nine Olympic Games. Which has been your
most memorable and why?
There are obviously great memories from all the Games; great challenges and great successes. But one of
the greatest was creating a team of approximately 15,000 people from each country who were absolutely
wonderful to work with. My favorite Olympic cities were probably Sydney and Vancouver. In Australia I went
scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and in Vancouver it is enough just to sit and watch the ferries going to
all the beautiful islands.
6.) We hear that you own a Harley Davidson. How often do you ride?
Jim Granger and I try to ride a few times a month in the mountains above Santa Barbara or by Lake Castaic,
then have lunch and ride back.
7.) If you could take one week off work - no laptop, emails, or cell phone - where would you want to spend
that week?
I am a simple guy, so I am happy to spend the week at my Guest Ranch, Woodside, in Wisconsin watching all
of the guests have a great time and also fulfilling my passion of sports by watching the kids play tournaments
at Woodside Sports Complex.
Q&A continued on next page
8.) Where is one place you would like to travel that you’ve never been?
That is difficult to say, as I would love to travel to any country or place where I have never been. But I’d like
to go to a place with great history, like China or Rome.
9.) What is your favorite sport to watch?
I don’t necessarily have a favorite sport to watch. It is great to watch sports at the highest level and see some
of the best talent in the world, and it is also great to watch youth sports, which capture the true enthusiasm
of amateurs.
10.) Who is your all-time favorite athlete and why?
I have seen sports shows argue the point of the greatest all-time athlete, naming such guys as Babe Ruth,
Bobby Bonds, Hank Aaron, Pelé, Kareem Abdul Jabbar and others, but they often omit the one I would
choose as the best: Mohammed Ali. He may have been the most well known in the world, and in my opinion,
he was also the greatest. In terms of my favorite all-time coach, that’s an easy one: John Wooden. Coach
Wooden was the best, both on and off the court.
11.) Do you have a favorite restaurant?
In my many travels, I have been fortunate to eat at some of the best restaurants in the country. I love great
steak houses, like Bob’s in Dallas, or St. Elmo in Indianapolis. The Capitol Grill in D.C. is excellent, as is the
fried chicken at Stroud’s in Kansas City and The Old Town Mexican Café in San Diego. I could name a dozen
more great places, but I am a simple guy and am happy to go to places like Fatburger in Los Angeles, IHOP
and Outback Steakhouse. The two places I frequent unequivocally the most are Chili’s and El Pollo Loco.
12.) You founded CSC in 1967 but are still very involved and hold the position of CEO. How do you maintain
the same enthusiasm and passion that you had 47 years ago?
There is nothing like the feeling of winning in sports, and being the best in our space of business is similar
to that feeling. I transfer my passion for sports into business. CSC is one big family and my energy and
enthusiasm is further bolstered by seeing my family members carrying the torch for me when I no longer can
go the distance.
13.) What are the top two or three words that you would use to characterize CSC?
Champions of quality and integrity.
14.) What are your hopes for CSC in the future?
It has taken all these years to build an incredible foundation, and with great experience, great programs,
owned technology, and quality leadership, it is time for the next generation to continue to expand ten-fold
and be the world champion of crowd management.
15.) Would you tell us one fun fact about yourself that would surprise most people?
I have been a tough guy in a tough world, with a Darth Vader-like reputation, and probably might not have
made it a number of times if it weren’t for the man upstairs watching over me. However, I am truly just a softy,
as I think a child in my arms is one the most beautiful things in the world. Those that are pure love and are
not yet affected by anything else!
