INTRODUCTION TO OUTDOOR LEADER SKILLS
• New Leader Essentials is the initial training for ALL adult leaders involved in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts or Venturing. (2 hours)
• Cub Scout Leader Specific includes five different breakout sessions related to Cub Scouting for Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Den
Leaders and Assistants, Pack Committee Chairs, Committee Members and Cubmasters and Assistants (3 hours)
• Boy Scout Leader Specific concentrates on troop operation (1 Day or 3 Evenings)
• Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills covers the outdoor skills expected of a First Class Scout (weekend)
To be a trained as a Cub Scout leader, every leader needs New Leader Essentials and Cub Scout Leader Specific for the position they
hold. To be trained as a Scoutmaster or Assistant Scoutmaster, a leader needs New Leader Essentials and Boy Scout Leader Specific
and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.
You may choose the course(s) that meets your schedule. You do not have to stay within your District.
To register fill out the attached form and mail to the address indicated. No Phone Registrations will be accepted.
A confirmation with location and directions will be sent after receiving your registration.

These courses have been designed to optimize the available time so that you get as much as possible
out of the course. Arriving late, leaving for a short time or leaving early will disrupt the dynamics.
All of the information being presented is important; missing part of the course will lead to an
incomplete and you will not be considered trained.
The training courses you are taking are designed to allow for a free flowing exchange of ideas and
comments between the volunteer staff and yourself. This combined with space limitations and
inadequate supervision, does not allow for children to attend.
