Josh Hanson Trust
The family of the late Josh Hanson who was
Murdered last year have organised a memorial
football tournament and family fun day on Sunday
9th October from 12—8pm at Powerleague, 31
Pursely Road, Mill Hill, London
NW7 2BB.
All money raised will go towards the Justice for Josh
Hanson Campaign and to raise awareness of knife
crime prevention.

Fr Stewart Phelan omi
Today, October 2nd, at the 11am Mass we will gather to
pray for the repose of the soul of Fr Stewart Phelan, an
Oblate priest who was Chaplain on the Black Prince ship
that was destroyed at the Battle of Jutland, during
World War One. At the end of the Mass we will unveil a plaque in his
memory. The mass will be celebrated by Monsignor Andrew
Mc Fadden, the senior Catholic Chaplain at the Royal Navy. We also
hope to have some of Fr Phelan’s family here.
Lourdes Pilgrimage
All pilgrims arrived home safely. Petitions were placed at the Grotto and a candle was lit for
the intentions of all Parishioners. Thank to all that supported and arranged the Pilgrimage.
The Month of the Rosary
Confirmation
October is known as the month of the
Rosary. After the 10am and 12.15pm Masses
we will pray the Rosary for world
peace. Please consider staying
after mass and joining us in
prayer for this very important
cause.
This Sunday at the 12.30pm Mass
we welcome the Candidates who
will begin their preparation for
their Confirmation this year. At
Mass today they will make their promise to
follow the programme. Please keep them in
your prayers this coming year.
Pray and Praise in Music
The JPIC group have organised an Organ Recital on Saturday 8th October from 3.30pm—5pm
in the Church. All are welcome to attend to discover prayer and worship through music.
Donations on entry £2 minimum, all money raised will go towards prevention of Human

Annual Mass with the Bereaved
We will be holding our annual mass with all those who have experienced the death of a
relative or friend during the past twelve months on Friday November 18th at 7.30pm. If
you would like the name of someone called out, no matter where the funeral was held,
please contact the parish office with their name and if possible a photo of them.

Yes, that’s right! We have 2 youth groups now in
the parish. Our First Group is for pupils in
Secondary School up to Year 11. We meet every
Friday from 7pm-8.30pm in Saint Eugene’s School
Hall Our activities are varied and enjoyable.
English Classes

The next session with Sr. Margaret on the document from Pope Francis will be on

Prisoners Sunday
Next Sunday 9th October is Prisoners Sunday. Please remember in your
prayers all those that are affected by imprisonment, prisoners, their families
and victims of crime. The Prison Advice Care Trust (PACT) is a Catholic
charity, one of the services offered is a Freephone helpline 0808 808 3444 offering support and
information to those with a family member or friend in Prison.
On the 11th of October, from 6pm—8pm Caritas Westminster will be holding an event to mark
National Prisons week at Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue, London, SW1P 1QW.
This is a week dedicated to praying for prisoners, ex-offenders and their families, which has
been occurring annually since 1975. The event will be an opportunity for people to meet prison
chaplains, hear about the work that goes on within prisons and to sign up for volunteering
opportunities. Everyone is welcome and refreshments will be served.

Calix Society London
The Calix Society is for recovery alcoholics/addicts
who want to draw on their Catholic Faith as a sure

Mental Health Support Group
We are beginning a support group for
parents/carers supporting children and
teenagers with mental health needs.
Please join us for an informal coffee
morning where you can meet and share
with others in a similar situation. We will
meet every Thursday 11am – 1 pm at the

The Porch will be opening as a place of welcome for the homeless on Thursday
October 13th at 7.30pm Next week through the heart appeal at the front of
the altar, we are asking parishioners to make donations of socks and gloves
that we can hand out to people this Winter.
