We probably won’t wear boots, but the Women of the Moose has a team
walking in the American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event. The walk will be held on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the
Southwood Town Center in Tallahassee. Please join our team as a walker or
you can contribute to our cause to help us reach our fundraising goal. We
will be sending out an email reminder as well as have a collection jar at the
lodge.
With your help, we can get even closer to ending the
disease by raising awareness and dollars in the fight!
P.S. Some of us may wear boots! Don’t you want to be
there to see that?!

Administrator’s Message
Another month has
gone by, and we
can see our Lodge
has improved. We
are now open on
M o n d a ys
and
Mikey’s
dinner
with Serina behind the bar has
become the place to be. Bud
Sloat, with the help of David and
Robin, did a nice rib and chicken
dinner. It was so well attended
that they have decided to do it
the third Saturday of every
month. See the ad in the newsletter.
Frank Ventry installed water in
the back room along with a new
sink. Now the big ice machine is
up and running. Your lodge officers have gone about making
repairs to coolers and installing
more efficient air conditioners
for a savings of more than $400
over last year’s June and July’s
utilities bills. Thanks everyone.

to see lots of members taking advantage of the Social Quarters and
various events at the lodge. Remember—your participation is
what helps pay the bills and we
could not do it without you!

Hey ladies.
It’s hard to believe that this year
is half over. Where has the time
gone.
We are planning a garage sale
fundraiser for September so if
you have some items that you no
longer need and would like to
donate, please think about donating them to us. Denise is also
still working steadily on the
cookbook and will hopefully
have it ready for sale in time for
the holidays.
As you can see on the
front page of this newsletter, we are putting together a team for the
breast cancer walk in October. If
you would like to join the team
for the 5K walk (or however
much you would like to walk),
please let me know. We are also
looking for donations to reach
our fundraising goal for this
community service project. It
would be nice to have t-shirts for
our team members so let me
know if you are interested in
joining the team.
