DEDICATED TO THE MARCHING ARTS ACTIVITIES SINCE 1962 JIM ZIKA/ROSETTES PERFORMANCE/MARCHING SCHOLARSHIP The North Star Circuit maintains a scholarship fund for those individuals who wish to participate in a summer color guard/marching activity and plan on giving back to the circuit. Scholarships awarded this year are for $500 or at least $250. Funds for the scholarship are made available through the Premiere Show, which is the first scheduled show of the season as well as donations. The Circuit wishes to thank the family of Jim Zika/Rosettes for their continued support in funding a Marching Scholarship. North Star Circuit will accept Scholarship Applications from any unit member (marching or support personnel) who is at least a high school senior on or before the date set for the Championship Show of the current season. Applicants must have participated in the current year’s Premiere Show as a member of a unit that holds membership with the Circuit. The applicant must have definite further plans to participate in a marching activity that will take place in the same calendar year as the award. Applicants must submit a COMPLETE application to be considered for a scholarship. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted for consideration. A complete application includes: • Completed Personal and Family Information Form • Completed Work History Form • Completed Essay Questions • Two Letters of Recommendation • Application must be signed All applications will be reviewed by members of the Executive Board of the North Star Circuit for the sole purpose of awarding the North Star Circuit Marching Scholarship. All information will remain confidential. Please keep a copy of all materials submitted. The following criteria will be used to determine scholarship winner(s): Letters of Recommendations, Answer to Essay Questions and Financial Need. Applicants must also participate in the 2017 Solo and Ensemble competition. Scholarship winner(s) will be announced at the Championship Show. The Marching Scholarships monies will be paid upon receipt of the name, address, and phone number of the Director of the Performance/Marching Unit, with signature of director and verification of unit membership. Scholarship winners are not eligible to apply for the same scholarship a second time. Applications will be accepted by the Contest Director or at the Souvenir table throughout the season up to, but not later than the Coon Rapids show.
