Two wilderness areas are nestled in these mountain ranges, the Bridger Wilderness and the Gros Ventre Wilderness. The Bridger Wilderness boasts the highest mountain in Wyoming, Gannett Peak at 13,804 feet. Of the animals, deer and antelope outnumber the residents by 10 fold and are commonly seen year round. Elk, mule deer, antelope, wolves, moose, grizzly, black bear, big horn sheep and many other wildlife species, including a wide variety of birds, call Sublette County home. The heart of Sublette County, a high mountain valley, is set at 7,000 feet elevation.
