HOW TO OVERCOME BITTERNESS
September 4, 2016 Exodus 15:22-27
Would you drink poison? Hebrews 12:15 God’s people went from shouts of
praise by the Red Sea to grumbling against Moses (Exodus 15:24). Why? They
had no water and the water they found was bitter. A desperate need.

They were in the desert of Shur=a dry, barren place.
They had no water (this is a test). Exodus 15: 25, James 1:2-3
They found water but it was undrinkable. Another test.
Do you feel beat up or afflicted by trials? Tests reveal your heart.

How to overcome bitterness












Stop blaming others. They blamed Moses & God. Exodus 15:24
Realize that the problem is inside of you. 15:26
God wants to heal you. 15:26 “For I am the Lord, who heals you.”
What did Moses do when tested? Exodus 15:25_____________
If you cry out to the Lord, God will show you what to do. Prov. 3:5-6
God can transform any situation. Romans 8:28
Exodus 15:25 God showed him a piece of wood. Think of the cross.
To overcome bitterness (a hurt in your heart): repent. Pray.
To overcome bitterness: forgive.
To forgive is to release the person to God and discover…
To overcome bitterness: stop dwelling and retelling.
God will then lead you to Elim. 15:27
