You Pick Activity choices
ABC Order: Place all words in
alphabetical order
Sentences: Pick 10 words and write
complete sentences using a subject
and predicate.
Written sort: Sort your words using
the patterns given. Write the words
into your spelling notebook in the
correct columns.
Blind Sort: Have a partner read the
words out loud. The student’s job is to
point to the correct category.
Vowels: Write the words and circle
the vowels
Mini-Story: Pick 10 words and write a
mini-story with a beginning, middle,
and end.
Speed Sort: Sort your words as fast as
you can for three times. Keep track of
how long it takes each time and see if
you can beat your time! Write your
time in your spelling notebook or
planner.

Mini-Story:
One day about 5 weeks ago, I started a new class. All of the students were nice
and I was excited about my new teacher. I have been waiting all summer to
meet her.
