Pilgrimage Presentation Church History

CE20 - History in the Catholic Church
The Richness, Beauty, and Joy of the Sacred Tradition:
Christian Pilgrimage Sites
As Catholics, we believe that the Holy Spirit guides the Church's journey through history. In our human
weakness, the Church has failed at times in serving God faithfully; yet, in the Grace of the Spirit, She has
produced, and continues to produce, a great spiritual heritage that is part of the fullness of Jesus' work of
salvation for the world. The act of pilgrimage to holy sites is a Christian tradition of honouring this work
of the Holy Spirit and of renewing ourselves in our own journeys to salvation.
This assignment will focus on Pilgrimage sites, those places that honour the working of the Holy
Spirit in the lives of those who have committed themselves to the mission of the Church.
●These places are founded on lives that were holy, sanctifying, rich in beauty, and filled with joy
and hope in Christ's salvation.
●They speak through the centuries of a God of love who seeks out His beloved people and who
gives them gifts and consolations for their journey to eternal holiness.
You will be assigned one of the topics. You will:
[1]research the topic
[2]prepare a suitable computer slide presentation
[3]give a presentation of your slides when they are being shown to the class
