SCRI is a 45-year old organization that promotes amateur youth sports to school-age children
living within the Sheridan School District and provides children, regardless of race, color, creed,
ethnicity, or socioeconomic status, with an equal opportunity to participate in instructional,
recreational, and competitive sports leagues.

SCRI Facts:
•
Families – Over 200 families have children participating in SCRI programs.
•
Children – Approximately 250 boys and 125 girls between the ages of 4-14 participate in SCRI programs
annually.

Facilities – Most sports are conducted in or on the grounds of various Sheridan Community Schools and at
the Biddle Memorial Park. SCRI is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the 3-diamond
baseball/softball facilities at the Biddle Memorial Park in addition to payment to the Park for facility fees in
excess of $4,000 per year.

Volunteers – Coaches and board members volunteer their time.
•
Support – SCRI is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that derives a significant percentage of its operating
budget from sponsorship revenue. SCRI offers the opportunity to invest in the youth of
Sheridan through team sponsorships and SCRI program sponsorships, which help support outreach, facility
maintenance, equipment replacement, scholarships for economically-disadvantaged children, and
registration cost reductions. The generosity of individuals and companies is an important building block to
the success of SCRI.

Thank you for your loyal support of Sheridan Community Recreation, Inc. SCRI is a not-for-profit organization run on a
volunteer basis to provide athletic programs for the youth of our community. Your sponsorships go a long way in
helping us continue to improve the programs and facilities. We are trying to reach more kids in our community who
have not been afforded the opportunity to participate in organized youth sports for various reasons. Your generous
