LAS EXPECTACIONES DE LA CLASE
**Please read #’s 1 – 12, and sign below. I need the signatures of both student and parent/guardian in
order for you to receive credit for your 1st homework assignment. Please visit my web site throughout
the year. You can get to it through the school web site. Student assignments will be listed in the
calendar. If you have any questions or problems please send me an e-mail: [email protected]
1. ATTENDANCE
If you are absent, it is your responsibility to show the office an excuse within 72 hours upon
returning to school. If I do not see excused on the computer, a detention will be assigned.
When the bell rings you will be in my class. If you are late, you will have a pass from another
teacher. Tardy #3 = one hour of after school detention & parent notification/conference;
Tardy #4 = two hours of after school detention & parent notification/conference.
2. MAKE-UP WORK
When you are absent (excused), you will have 1 week upon return to school to make up any
quizzes, tests or other graded work. Homework is due the day that you return.
All make-up quizzes and tests will be placed in the Testing Center. [1st - -303S]; [2nd-303S]; [3rd – 303S];

3. HOMEWORK
You will receive homework 3-5 times a week. Each of the homeworks is worth 5-10 points. If
you don’t have the homework, on time, you will receive a 0. When you are absent it is your
responsibility to make-up the homework that you have missed. If you don’t, it will result in a 0.
If you complete all the homework (on time) in a marking period you will receive
15 pts extra credit; if you miss just 1 homework: 10 pts extra credit;
if you miss just 2 homeworks: 5 pts extra credit.
4. CLASS PARTICIPATION
You must participate in this class to learn. When you raise your hand and answer a question
you will receive a point. You should have 100 of these points each marking period.
5. NOTEBOOKS
You are required to have one
big notebook (3-ring binder) for the whole year, divided into 5
sections, or 4 notebooks (3-ring binders) for each marking period, divided into 5 sections:
1.handouts/homework
2.notes
3.quizzes/exams
4.preguntas orales
5. sobrante
6. NOTEBOOK EXAMS
At the end of each marking period you will have an exam, using your notebook, in which I will
ask you questions from the above 5 sections.
At the end of the year you will have a notebook final, on your entire notebook(s).
Keep your entire notebook(s) for the entire year!

7. BEHAVIOR

If I have to talk to you within a class period regarding disruptive behavior you will lose class
participation points. The third time that I have to talk to you, you will receive a detention.

9. BATHROOM POLICY
In order to go to the bathroom, water fountain, locker, nurse, etc., you must raise your hand and
ask me in Spanish (see expression list at bottom of page). If you do not ask me in Spanish, you may not go.
After you have asked me, sign out and take the pass.

To begin the year, all of you have an A+ in this class. If you are having trouble in the class,
please come in and see me for extra help. You can come in before school or after school. I am also
available the following periods: 2nd (Library - by appointment); 4th (Library - by appointment);
7th (Library – by appointment).
11. FINAL EXAM
At the end of the school year you will have a final worth 1/9th of your grade.
12. SPEAKING IN SPANISH The 1st day of October, when you speak you must speak in Spanish. If
I hear English, you will lose participation points.
