In the beginning of the quarter each member made 3 blade designs

In the beginning of the quarter each member made 3 blade designs, using 4 different materials. We tested the designs to see which blades had the highest electrical output and then graphed the data. To create our design, we came up with a rectangular box shape out of wood. To make our design sturdy, we added pieces of wood to the side and boAom. For our turbine generator, we created a square-‐shaped top that would be centered with our fan. On top of the square shape, we added a brace to hold the pipe. Our measurements for the design were accurate and it turned out neat, but we did run into the problem of finding a good way to create a brace. Our blade design was created with chipboard in the shape of a triangle. Each side of the triangle was 11 cm. Because we used gears, we had to come up with a larger design. We tested many pitch angles to see what one would capture the most wind energy. When we found that 10° worked best, we tested how many blades would work best. We found that a design with 3 blades had the highest output. ALer construcMon, our final output was 0.98 V.
