This is the only known carded Rocket Firing Boba Fett to exist.
This painted J-Slot Boba Fett was displayed at the 1979 New York
Toy Fair. This is the perhaps more desirable than the first
G.I. Joe action figure that auctioned for $250,000 several years ago.
The prototype Rocket Firing Boba Fett Fett is pictured on the left, while a
production Boba Fett is pictured on the right. Some of the differences are:
1.The serial number in the upper left is No. 39430 on the prototype versus No. 39250.
2.The card on the prototype version does not have a punch perforation.
3.The prototype has an inner bubble which holds the rocket in place inside the
bubble.
4.The rocket firing missile can be seen much higher up than the production one.
5.The artwork on the card is clearly different than the production
a.Boba Fett’s elbow is fully visible in the prototype, while it is partially
covered by the border for the bubble on the production one.
b.The Kenner logo is different.
c.There is no text above the Kenner logo on the prototype.
d. The flame coming out of the arm is a different color and shape.
e. The fireball color and edges are different from the production one.
Our first auction will include some of the finest AFA graded toy
