The market opens for the reception of stock.

The inspector will be available to inspect stock. Any sheep failing to
pass either inspection will have the lot number withdrawn, and must
be removed from the market premises in accordance with the
conditions of sale and entry, a copy of which may be inspected in
the auctioneers’ offices.

The inspection closes, in order to allow sufficient time for show
preparation. No sheep will be allowed into the market after this
time.

1.TagswhichdonotcomplywithUKlegislationandSocietyrequirementswillresultinthesheepbeing
rejectedatinspection.From2008allregisteredlambsmustcarrytagswiththeSocietylogo.Checkthat
tagsarecorrectattimeofentry,sothatreplacementtagscanbeorderedbeforethesale.
2. Inspection–Allsheepforward mustbebackͲstampedwith thelotnumber,failuretodosowill
resultinrejection.
3. Sheep which have failed inspection will be identified by a neck tag marked ‘Reject’ or may be
removedimmediatelyfromthemarketpremises..
4. Rejected sheep which are to be penned with the rest of the consignment must be identified by a
neck tag marked ‘Reject’. It is a condition of entry that this rule is strictly adhered to. Vendors are
advisedtochecktheiranimalsthoroughlypriortodeparturefromhome.
5. Inspection will include the following points:Ͳ Teeth and Testicles, Mobility Udder, Muscularity and

The Direct Debit Guarantee

CHELFORD AGRICULTURAL CENTRE
Chelford Agricultural Centre lies adjacent to the A537 Knutsford - Macclesfield road,
and is best approached from the motorway network via junctions 18 or 19 off the M6.
Alternatively those travelling from the North may find it more convenient to use the
new M60 Manchester orbital route, and to follow the A34 south through Wilmslow and
Alderley Edge, turning right on the A537 at Monks Heath traffic lights.
By rail, travel from Crewe or Manchester Piccadilly on the local service, which stops at
Chelford Station adjoining the Centre.
By air, the centre lies less than 10 miles from Manchester Airport from where transport
can be arranged upon request.
