UCPL-4-86 UC Policy Library Court of Convocation Statute Last Modified Review Date Approval Authority Contact Person March 2017 March 2020 Chair, University Council University Registrar – Vice-Chancellor's Office Introduction This document sets out the Court of Convocation Statute for the maintenance of the Court of Convocation Register. Definitions Court of Convocation – consists of all graduates of the University of Canterbury, as defined in point (3) below. Policy Statement The University of Canterbury Court of Convocation Register 1. The Registrar of the University shall prepare and keep the Register of the Court of Convocation. All graduates of the University, or the Christchurch College of Education or their statutory predecessors, shall be entitled to be enrolled on the Register without application. 2. The Registrar shall use reasonable endeavours to enrol all graduates whose names and addresses are held in the records of the University and all new graduates from time to time. No inaccuracy in the Register shall invalidate the Register. 3. For the purposes of the Register, “graduate” means a. a student having a Bachelor’s degree, Diploma of Fine Arts or any postgraduate qualification conferred by the University or its statutory predecessors; or b. any student of the Christchurch College of Education or its statutory predecessors ______________________________________________________________________________________ Court of Convocation Statute v. 2.00 Page 1 of 2 © This document is the property of the University of Canterbury. UCPL-4-86 i. who graduated before 2007 from any programme requiring a minimum of three years full-time study, or ii. who graduated in or prior to 1968 from any programme requiring two years full-time study, or iii. who holds a postgraduate qualification conferred by the College. 4. The Registrar may amend any address shown on the Register and remove the name of any member who so requests.
