Ludlow Assistant Principal Frank L. Meyer Assistant Principal English 9 Honors Students and Parents: I write to apologize for miscommunication that occurred regarding the summer reading assignment for students taking English 9 Honors this coming school year. The school has been contacted by some parents inquiring about where to locate this information. Students enrolled in English 9 Honors do have an assignment to complete and turn into the teacher on the first day of school. A link has been provided to access the assignment: https://sites.google.com/site/avonlibraryresearch/home/summer-reading-forenglish-classes. The purpose for our summer reading program is to prepare students for the curricular demands of our Honors/Pre-AP English path of studies. The summer reading assignment also allows for smooth transition towards practicing English skills from the first day of class. The time necessary to complete the assignment is not expected to reach beyond two hours for students at the honors level. The English 9 Honors assignment has (2) parts: Kellie R. Rodkey Assistant Principal Brad S. Holsinger Athletic Administrator Lance A. Larkey Dean / Assistant Athletic Administrator Read “The Most Dangerous Game” (15 pages) by Richard Connell; and Answer the (44) questions related to the reading. Again, the assignment is to be turned into the teacher on the first day of class where discussion over the literary elements of the story, and the observations made by the students will be shared. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Sincerely, Andy Johnson, English Department Chair [email protected]
