Membership Info
The WYCC Board of Directors has approved a 2017 Spring/Fall
membership drive to replace the previous Walter Drive. Our goal to
bring in 75 net new members during our prime months, and for the
balance of this year. The membership committee will be meeting
on April 4, 2017 in The Upper Deck at 5:30 p.m. Any member
having an interest in joining our committee, please contact William
Taylor at 252-623-8792, or e-mail [email protected].
We will be discussing a Spring kickoff “Prospect Meet and Greet”
on our waterfront tentatively scheduled for April 25, 2017. Be on
the lookout soon for details of the 2017 Spring/Fall drive, and this
kickoff event. All current members please be thinking of at least
one good prospect you know that might have an interest in a WYCC
membership. Bringing along a good prospect will be your ticket to
joining in on the fun on April 25, 2017. But we will need a good
headcount, and participation! Because we are all in this together!

• MONTHLY BILLING CYCLE: Members have the Calendar
March’s wintery weather has taken its toll on Ladies Golf play
days. We are glad to report that the Ace of the Month is none
other than Sylvia Day due to her excellent playing skills. Coley
Hodges was able to bring in the lowest number of putts for the
round. Congratulations to you both. On Mar 12, the women played
a new game for them, “Three Blind Golfers”. Winners of this
tightly contested round were Marilyn Bram, Sylvia Day and Coley
Hodges. The Breakfast Tournament scramble brought out two teams
of women players that both managed scoop out a substantial win
against the men playing in the second flight. First Place winners
were Katherine Mitchell, Sylvia Day, Betsy Strader and Carolyn
Sullivan-Strickland. Bringing home the Second Place prize were
Coley Hodges, Susan Hodges and Dorie Richter. Nice playing,
ladies. Coming up is the LGA President’s Cup, a singles match
play tournament. Last day for sign-up to play is Saturday, April 8.
Tournament play will run from April 12

From the Grounds
Spring weather is among us and green grass is showing itself all
around the property. As the flowers begin to bloom and pollen falls
from the trees our days on the course begin be more enjoyable after
such a cold winter. Let’s hope to finish the Spring with cool and
sunny days.
Throughout the Winter we have eliminated dead trees, repair and
shifted sand in bunkers, and did much needed trimming on trees and
bushes to prepare for the upcoming busy tournament season. While
the turf begins to wake up any excessive wear from cart traffic
becomes much more noticeable which is not only unappealing to the
eye but causes excessively tight lies with the possibility of killing
the turf over time. Please remember to follow the Path Rule and
carts should remain on the paths around Greens and Tees at all times.
I hope to see everyone on the course and let’s look forward to a
great Summer. Thank you - Patrick

Membership Scorecard
