MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Before you installing Squeeze Server, please ensure your computer meets or exceeds the following system requirements: •
•
•
•
Microsoft® Windows® Server 2008 R2 (x64), Server 2012 (x64), Server 2012 R2 (x64) Processor: 1.4GHz Memory: 4GB RAM Available Disk Space: 150GB (must be sufficient for source/output videos file sizes) NVIDIA CUDA Sorenson Squeeze does not require a CUDA-‐enabled NVIDIA graphics card to encode video. CUDA support was first introduced in Squeeze Desktop 7 and most versions of Squeeze Server. Since the introduction of the CUDA GPU Acceleration we have found these encodes to be below our standards of quality. With the introduction of our Parallel Encoding feature we have been able to create higher quality output files that encode faster than with the GPU Acceleration. The MainConcept Codec, required for CUDA encoding, no longer supports CUDA GPU Acceleration. This means that the latest CUDA cards will not be supported. If you would like to learn more about GPU accelerated encoding in Squeeze please visit: https://support.sorensonmedia.com/customer/portal/articles/1410985-‐h-‐264-‐gpu-‐acceleration-‐in-‐sorenson-‐
squeeze?b_id=470 KEY NEW FEATURES IN SORENSON SQUEEZE SERVER Sorenson Media is committed to continually improving the video encoding experience for video professionals. To accomplish this goal, we focus not only on traditional, “must-‐have” features like speed and quality, but also on often overlooked pain points such as increasingly complicated workflows. After all, a lot happens prior to encoding (e.g., capture, editing), and a lot happens after encoding (e.g., review and approval, publishing, distribution) -‐-‐ so shouldn’t the tools in your workflow fit in seamlessly and make your life easier? This section provides a brief overview of the newest features in Squeeze Server. For more detailed information, including introductory and tutorial videos, please visit http://www.sorensonmedia.com/video-‐encoding/ Squeeze Server 4.0
