SUMMER READING LIST (2015-2016)
Grades 9-12
All rising freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who are not in
the IB English program will read one selection from the Fiction and
one from the Non-Fiction book lists below, plus a third book of their
choice from either the Fiction or the Non-Fiction lists. All junior and
senior IB HL and SL students will read specific selections chosen for
their courses and levels. They are also encouraged to read one
selection from the Fiction and the Non-Fiction book lists.
At the beginning of the school year, students in English classes will be
assigned graded work related to their summer reading as directed by
their respective teachers at their grade levels. Those assignments
may include both a written and an oral component.
Students are encouraged, though not required, to read additional
books from one or both of the fiction and non-fiction lists.
