Reading Logs/Reading Bingo
Explanation:
At the beginning of each month, your child will receive a “Reading Log”
sheet along with a “Reading Bingo” sheet. Both worksheets will be due at the
end of each month. Your child is responsible for reading 200 pages a month.
When they finish a book, they log the title, author, number of pages and
have you sign it. For extra credit, they can choose different genres to earn
a “Bingo” reward.
Purpose:
• To reinforce reading at home.
• To encourage reading of different genres.
Requirements:
• Students are required to read 200 pages a month!
• Students are not required to fill up the Bingo sheet (Reward is only given
for the optional Reading Bingo sheet).
Helpful Suggestions:
• Make sure your child is choosing books at his or her reading level.
• Reading a book together counts in Reading Bingo!
• Ask your child to retell some things about the book before you sign the
box.
• Look up the different genres on barnesandnoble.com or scholastic.com
and ask your local or school librarian for the titles.
