something.
EXAMPLES

Anteroom = a small room that is used as a waiting room before going into a
larger connected room.

Antecedent = a preceding event, condition, or cause
Dinosaurs antedate cavemen by millennia.
Antedate = to be earlier or older than something
I can't believe you're still driving that antediluvian car!
Antediluvian = made, evolved, or developed a long time ago. Outmoded.
I love those old, huge antebellum houses in the South.
Antebellum = existing before a war, specifically before the American Civil
War.
