Wind TRY is a very efficient input file for sizing and forecasting energy
production of wind turbines and plants through dynamic simulation

The main objective of the Project, started in September 2010, was the
implementation of a database containing typical meteorological years
(Test Reference Year - TRY) for a high number of locations all over the Italian
territory. TRYs can be used as input of dynamic simulation tools for different
applications, among which environmental analyses and performance
assessments of renewable energy plants.
Raw data have been acquired from the main meteorological agencies
working on the Italian territory. Missing data have been reconstructed
through ®special algorithms, then the most suitable months have been
put together to generate the TRYs, soon available on the website www.

Solar-thermal TRY, already developed in other countries, is a very
efficient input file for sizing and forecasting energy production solarthermal plants through dynamic simulation software systems, as well
as for predicting the thermal load of a building: a powerful support
for designers and engineers. It depends on four hourly meteorological
variables: dry-bulb temperature, global solar radiation, relative humidity
and wind speed.

Environmental TRY is a very efficient input file for research and
assessments on pollutant dispersions in the atmosphere: a powerful
support for environmental planning and applications. It depends on
four hourly meteorological variables: dry-bulb temperature, global solar
radiation, relative humidity and wind speed.

The target of ItMeteoData.com
Why ItMeteoData.com?
It.MeteoData.com is a database of typical meteorological years (Test
Reference Years – TRYs), with an unprecedented degree of capillarity
and innovation. TRYs have been generated for a high number of
locations in Italy, and for four different applications: beside the solarthermal TRY, you can download Photovoltaic, Wind and Environmental
TRYs.
For all these reasons, It.MeteoData.com has become the forefront for
finding the hourly meteorological data needed in dynamic simulation
software tools for several applications, among which environmental
analyses and production assessments of renewable energy plants.

Searching TRYs is simple and intuitive: you can select a Region or
type in the precise location, and the markers on the interactive
map will show you the available TRYs for each station; click on a
marker and you will find a detailed description of the TRY, as well as
the instructions on how to download it. Otherwise you can select
