Through JIBC’s Incident Command System (ICS) courses, you and
your team will learn a common response management model, so you
can more effectively respond to emergencies and integrate smoothly
with response agencies across North America.
ABOUT THE INCIDENT COMMAND SYSTEM
ICS is a recognized model for command, control, and coordination
of response at an emergency site. Originally designed in response to
wildfires, ICS has evolved into a flexible and scalable management
system, providing a common response framework suitable to any
size of event.

The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is Canada’s leading
public safety educator - a dynamic post-secondary institution
recognized nationally and internationally for innovative education
in the areas of justice and public safety. The JIBC offers a range
of applied and academic programs that span the spectrum of
safety – from prevention to response and recovery.
In this course recommended for all first responders and sitesupport personnel, learn a proven incident site management
system for emergencies or disasters. Gain a basic understanding of
the Incident Command System, its organization, principles, basic
structure and common responsibilities.
Incident Command System Level 200
In this two-day course, learn a standardized method of managing
any type of emergency. As an Incident Commander or responder,
gain the knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently manage an
emergency site at a small to moderate sized incident.
Incident Command System Level 300
In this intermediate-level two-day course, learn a flexible and
expandable structure that can be easily adapted based on the
needs of an incident. Designed for supervisory level personnel, gain
the skills necessary to manage medium to larger size incidents.
Incident Command System Level 400
In this advanced-level three-day course, utilize immersive
simulation technology to learn how to manage large and complex
emergency incidents. Explore methods for managing activities and
resources in multi-agency and multi-jurisdictional settings.
