In March, 2010, suppliers of
betaine HCl were no longer
capable of providing raw material
that conformed to our rigorous
purity specifications. Subsequent
evaluation of material from three
additional suppliers revealed similar
short-comings. In keeping with our
philosophy and responsibility as an
industry leader, we initiated a multidisciplinary effort to
identify a manufacturer that maintained the same unyielding
principles and quality standards as Pure Encapsulations.
In August 2010, we began a collaboration with a German manufacturer
to secure betaine HCl that precisely
and unconditionally conforms to
our strict definitions of purity. The
timeline of this initiative necessitated
a backorder of our Betaine HCl
Pepsin. A 9-month effort brought
this project to fruition on April 5th,
2011, when the new material arrived
at Pure Encapsulations.
While synthetic betaine HCl is the
choice of most nutritional supplement
companies in the U.S., our German
manufacturing partner is one of the
very few suppliers of natural betaine
HCl. Our new betaine HCl is derived
from beets and delivers a degree of
