The construc on work planned for this project includes the demoli on of defined exis ng site features and
pavement and subsequent construc on and installa on of landscape and gardens, water features, plaza and
hardscape, historic wall reconstruc on, paths, parking, roads, u li es, site furnishings and all other plan
components as defined in the plans and specifica ons; as well as all permits and temporary facili es as
needed.

The project is composed of separate zones within the park with the following main components:
1. Cockrill Spring Zone. This is a 6.5‐acre area fron ng on West End Avenue. Work includes the
reconstruc on of the historic perimeter wall, dayligh ng of exis ng Cockrill Spring and crea ng a
surface pool and water feature, Cockrill spring plaza, permanent sea ng for Musicians Corner
integrated into the landscape, construc on of mul ple pedestrian paths and bridges, gardens, trees
and landscaping, u li es, site furnishings, irriga on, stormwater systems, and other enhancements.
2. Parthenon Parking Zone. The Parthenon Parking Zone is defined in the plans and project manual as
alternate 1 and should not be included in the guaranteed maximum price. The proposed cost for
alternate 1 should be entered into the appropriate sec on of the revised cost breakdown
spreadsheet. This is a 6.8‐acre area immediately north and east of the Parthenon. Works includes
the development of new pedestrian paths, parking, an entry plaza space, events lawn, gardens, trees,
landscaping, u li es, site furnishings, irriga on, stormwater systems, and other enhancements. If
Metro elects to issue a no ce to proceed for the Parthenon Parking Zone
add/alternate, we an cipate that such no ce will be issued in September of 2014.

The attached Construction Documents and Project Manual contain technical specifications which

Metro reserves the right to issue multiple purchase orders for various phases of work contingent
upon available funding.
The entire project, including any accepted alternates, should be completed by Summer 2015.
