Contributions Welcome Mission Statement TEAM FIRST Program The Danny Dietz Leadership and Training Foundation is dedicated to enriching the lives of youth and adults through strenuous mental and physical activities designed to create U.S. citizens who are engaged and contributing members of their communities. Danny Dietz was a U.S. Navy Seal Team member who valiantly gave his life for his country on 28 June 2005 during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan. Since 2009, Danny’s father, Dan Sr. has dedicated himself to continue to honor his son’s memory through the Foundation to build future leaders with strong character and a sense of responsibility to their community. The Danny Dietz Leadership and Training Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) organization. The program integrates physical training with a character development component. Dan Dietz, Sr. developed 17 Founding Principles based on his research of the lives of great Americans to teach the true meaning of patriotism and leadership skills. Danny Dietz Founding Principles As participants in the program develop an understanding and incorporate the Founding Principles into their lives, they realize they are capable of achieving something greater than an individual can accomplish alone. Creativity Will Maturity Assertiveness Thinking of innovative and better ideas, programs, and solutions to problems. The ability to make wise decisions based on reason and moral principle. Self-Discipline Doing your duty or responsibility regardless of fatigue or other factors. Self-Improvement The readiness to read, study, seek challenges, and work to strengthen beliefs, values, ethics, knowledge, and skill. Compassion Sensitivity to the feelings, values, interests, and well-being of others. Confidence The perseverance to accomplish a goal, regardless of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Taking charge when necessary. Bearing Posture, overall appearance, and manner of physical movement. Decisiveness Sound judgement in making good decisions at the proper time. Humility Teach ability; correcting weaknesses or imperfections in your character, knowledge, and skills. Initiative The assurance to be successful in all endeavors. The ability to take action without waiting for orders or supervision. Endurance Justice Mental, spiritual, and physical stamina. Flexibility Making timely and appropriate changes in thinking, plans, or methods when you see a better way. Sense of Humor Not taking yourself too seriously. The fair treatment of all people regardless of race, religion, color, gender, age, or national origin. Poise under Stress Confident control of emotions under adverse conditions.
