Did not want to leave any Veteran off our list of family members who have
served! So here are a few that I didn’t know about! …..and may I add that there
are SOME folks who tried to join, but for medical reasons, were unable to; the
main thing is that they TRIED!

Obviously, not everyone knows some of the people whose
photos are in the SSS! And with regard to the Vets, their
pictures won’t mean a thing unless I explain who’s who! I
didn’t have room in the previous issue, but will try to start
identifying people now…at least the Vets on the first page!
Just remember that the SSS is the brainchild of Norma S.
(Mrs. Carl Hagy), Diana S. (Mrs. Hector Farias), Alice S.
(Mrs. Perry Reed), Manuel (Meme) Salinas, and yours truly,
Lily S. (Buddy Wright-<dec>). The first few SSS issues
were prepared by daughter Debbie (Wright) Swisher, but the
references to “family” begin with the five Salinas siblings.
For example, the Navy men above are Pedro Ramirez, who
is father to Norma Salinas, who is married to Meme!
William Tatum is grandfather to Heather Shah & Jennie
Nickel, who are Buddy Wright’s grand-nieces. Servando
Laurel is Eugie Farias’ dad, and is alive & well! (The names
in Yellow boxes mean they’re still with us! Green boxes
means they’re deceased!)

Coming back to the left…Tom Varnon is Buddy Wright’s
nephew.
Bobby Muller is Ana Farias Muller’s husband;
she is sister to Hector Farias.
Lester Kalmbach was
grandfather to Michael, who is married to Christi, who is
Olga (Trevino) & Bill Barnes’ daughter. (Olga was a favorite
cousin!) Javier Laurel is uncle to Eugie Farias.
Phil Landis was Evelyn’s husband, & father of Robert, who
is married to Alejandra Farias, daughter of Diana & Hector.
Lorenzo Hooker is dad to Gabby Reddam, who is married to
Jesse, Lisa Wright’s son. Mr. Vasquez was dad to Laura V.
Farias, widow of Guillermo Farias who was Hector’s
brother. And finally, Rod Riedesel is married to Stephanie,
Linda Wright’s daughter & Linda is married to Mike Wright.
(I hope this helps a little bit!)
An MQ-9 Reaper UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) - the
primary offensive strike “drone” used by the AF, & Mike
Wright’s primary focus. Mike is with contractor CAE at a
base in New Mexico.
