Session Outline
This session explores the changes in
Britain between the Stone Age, Bronze
Age and Iron Age. Children will:
-
Look at and compare evidence
from each time period.
Experience a craft from one of
three time periods.
Activity 1: Gallery Hunt
Children will search the gallery for
objects from each of the three time
periods to build their understanding of
the differences between the three
ages.
Activity 2: Mystery Object Handling
Children will handle objects from Stone
Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age times
to discover more about life in
Prehistoric Britain.
Activity 3: Game – Guess the
Mystery Person
Children will look at a series of object
clues and have to match the set of
belongings to the mystery person.
Activity 4: Ancient Craft - Pottery
Children will create a Neolithic clay pot
and decorate it will a geometric design.
