Investigating properties of metals. Developing sketching skills using construction lines. Pupils will design and make a mould to manufacture / cast a pewter key fob. More about mechanisms – using a mechanism and motor to produce reciprocating movement. They will use this to design and make a walking monster or vehicle, assembling the different parts, including an introduction to strip heating/ forming acrylic. They will learn how controllers can be used to program movements and other outputs, introducing and gaining an understanding of robotics. 2 3 Introduction to plastics – learning to use the vacuum-forming machine.
