Thursday: November 19-Junior Meeting, during 3rd period in Auditorium Friday, November 20—Last day for Senior dues, see Ms. Miller American Education Week-Nov. 16-20, 2015 Monday: November 16-Thank you wall! Students, Faculty, Staff are able to write thank you to their teacher (s), colleague for his/her contributions. Tuesday: November 17-Turaround Day, Staff becomes student and student become staff. Wednesday: November 18 –Faculty & staff show their college pride by wearing their college colors or college apparel. Thursday: November 19--Reading to Elementary students…..Juniors and Seniors go to Robert Coleman and Gwynns Falls Elementary Schools. Friday: November 20-Students show their College or Career intentions by wearing College Apparel or Clothing that represents their career. THIS WEEK INSIDE FREDERICK PAGE Guidance Naviance Career Search Post Secondary Awareness Survey Common applications are being completed by seniors iReady / PARCC Testing It’s that time of year again and testing is just around the corner. iReady testing will run from December 1-10, 2015 and Algebra and English PARCC testing for selected potential graduates will run December 15-17, 2015. Please see the attached calendar and testing plans for both events. Debate Congratulations to the Douglass Debaters they came in 4th on Saturday, November 14, 2015: Carlton Graham, Kirkche Sims, Cornell Jefferson, Matina Hunt, Shalize Johnson, and Iyonna Littles . A special shout out to Kirkche Sims got one for being one of the top 5 speakers, Kirkche Sims and Matina Hunt for being a top 5 team, and Shalize Johnson, and Iyonna Littles for being one of the top 10 teams! Coach Class Every teacher in the building offers afterschool help to students at least one day per week. Students that are not in good academic standing, should attend Coach Class for each class that they are in danger of failing or failing on a weekly basis. If there are any inquiries about a specific teacher’s Coach Class schedule, please contact the teacher directly. Family and community engagement meeting and turkey give away Please join us on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 5 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Contemporary Family Services has 200 turkeys to give away to Douglass families this Thanksgiving holiday season. You need only attend the Family and School Council meeting on November 18th to receive one. Come on out and support the Douglass family and receive a turkey to take home to your family this holiday season. Food Drive We are collecting non perishable items to prepare holiday baskets for Douglass families in need. The collection site is directly outside of the attendance office. If you are interested in helping us with this endeavor, please see Mr. Troy Smith.
