The school believes that the curriculum is not only confined to formal
subjects but is the total planned learning experiences provided in the
school. All the learning areas will be taught and assessed in line with the
continuous and comprehensive evaluation (C.C.E) pattern.
The purpose of assessment is to:
v Understand a student's strengths and weaknesses.
v Measure growth or lack of it in specific learning areas.
v Give feedback on the effectiveness of teaching.
v Provide a tool for comparing and judging the quality of learning.
v The first three purposes focus on the process of learning and help to
make it more effective and so are formative in nature. The last focus on
the product or outcome of learning to ensure that learning is effective
and thus is summative in nature.
