1|Page April 2012 Office of Residential Life Departmental Newsletter Room Change & Single Room Requests for Fall 2012 Housing Assignments For returning students whom wish to request a room change or single room for the 2012-2013 academic year may do so by selecting the web link below. http://valpo.edu/reslife/assets/webform/RoomChange.php Please be aware of the following items: You must have selected a room assignment for the Fall 2012 in order to make a room change or single room request. If you have not selected a room for the Fall 2012, then contact the Office of Residential Life for a housing assignment before completing the online form. Make Sure that your roommate(s) (REQUESTED OR CURRENT) also submits a room change request form. ROOMMATE REQUESTS MUST BE MUTUAL, and on file from all roommates involved in the room change request before a change request can be processed. We will be processing the room change requests in three cohort groups. Each cohort group will be determined by the date the request was submitted. Requests submitted by APRIL 15, 2012, will be placed in the first cohort group, priority going to those individual/groups with the highest number of completed credit hours. The second cohort group will be compose of the requests submitted by JUNE 1, 2012, priority going to those individual/groups with the highest number of completed credit hours. The third cohort group will be compose of the requests submitted by JULY 13, 2012, priority going to those individual/groups with the highest number of completed credit hours. Requests will be kept on file in the Office of Residential Life and processed throughout the spring and summer as space becomes available until July 30, 2012, at which time all outstanding request forms will be discarded. Any student who still desires an assignment change after this date will be required to file a new change request form. Requests filed beginning August 20, 2012 will be accepted, but changes will not be processed until the third week of Fall semester classes. ROOM CHANGE & SINGLE ROOM REQUESTS ARE NOT GUARANTEED. There are 5 categories that residents can be nominated for: Resident Assistant, Desk Attendant, House Council/Judicial Board Member, Student, and Program.
