Anchor 2: I’m Anchor 2. Welcome to Burst
News. April 22 is a special day. It’s called
Earth Day!

Anchor 1: On Earth Day, people learn how
to take care of the Earth.

Anchor 2: It is important to take care of the
Earth and all its animals.
50

safe.

dirty the homes of many animals.

Reporter 1: It also hurts animals when we
cut trees down. Many animals live in the
trees.
121
126
133
Reporter 2: Birds make their nests there.
Trees also have leaves and fruits that
animals eat.

Anchor 2: What would happen if we didn’t
take care of the Earth and its animals? What
would happen if we didn’t keep it clean?
What would happen if people kept cutting
trees down?

Anchor 1: A dirty Earth means that plants

sick in Africa.

us why this is happening.
Reporter 3: Hunters are hurting animals.
Reporter 4: People are cutting down trees.
Anchor 1: Animals will not have safe homes
if there are no trees.
Anchor 2: If hunters keep hurting animals,
there will be fewer animals in Africa.
Anchor 1: That would be very sad. Isn’t
Africa very far away?
Anchor 2: Yes, it is. We have Burst
Reporters 5 and 6 here to tell us more
about Africa.
