HMS PTA’s Staff Appreciation Week
HMS PTA will hold its Staff Appreciation Week during the second week of May, May 9-13,
2016, with Mini-Bagel Monday, Protein/Candy Bar Tuesday, Pizza & Mints/Gum/Funny Joke
Wednesday, Fruity Thursday and Ice Cream Sundae Friday, to be held at the HMS Staff Lounge
during the three lunch periods. To contribute, please go to:

donations, and volunteers from families of HMS students to show appreciation to our wonderful

Box Tops Will Earn Extra Recess!
Send in valid, unexpired Box Tops now to help your student's grade win extra recess this Spring.
Collect the Box Tops and put them in a sealed envelope or zipper baggie. Make sure your
student's grade (6th, 7th, or 8th) is noted in a permanent and legible way, either inside or
on the outside of the envelope or baggie. Drop them off in the collection bin in the front office
(on the window sill) as often as you want between now and May 19th. The date of the extra
recess will be announced after the winning grade has been determined. For questions, contact

Adopt-A-Staff
Don’t forget to reveal yourself to your staff member during the first week of June. Use a joke, a

HMS PTA color run!
The Hammond Middle School PTA held its first ever color run last month. The 5K & 1 Mile
Run/Walk was a huge success. Many thanks to everyone that volunteered and participated!
