Our Content
Mambo Español offers 5 different levels, each with 7-8 units. It is estimated to take between
2-3 weeks to complete each unit.
Level A1: Artículos dennidos, verbo llamar, ser, género y número, estar, estar + localización, adjetivos,
pronombres posesivos, artículos demostrativos.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to spell names and identify the letters of the Spanish alphabet;
will be able to introduce himself / herself and others and to greet and say good-bye in Spanish; will also be able to
use the verb SER to ask simple questions, to describe people, to tell the day of the week and to identify some
objects from the school and the names of some popular classes. He / She will learn how to use the verb ESTAR to
locate geographic places and to tell conditions of people along with the interrogative word Dónde. He / She will
also learn how to make agreements between adjectives and the verb ESTAR; will learn how to use the possessive
adjectives along with the members of the family and the demonstrative adjectives along with the parts of the
body. At the end of the course he or she will have learned some basic information about the Hispanic culture.
Level A2 : Verbo gustar, cuántos + hay, preguntas acerca de los colores, verbos regulares ---ER, verbo ir + a +
innnitivo, ser para describir, a veces, un poco y también, verbos ---AR, verbos tener y querer, estar + arriba / abajo / debajo,
verbo ponerse y ser + de + material.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify visually and orally as well as to read and write the
names of some pastimes, games, the numbers from 1 to 100, colors, fruits and vegetables, the main parts and
objects of the house, household activities as well as some adjective to describe the house vocabulary and physical
and personality characteristics; he or she will also learn the name of some animals and related activities as well as
the names of clothes, materials and shapes. The student will learn to use the verb GUSTAR to talk about the above
mentioned subjects in singular; he or she will ask questions about quantities, colors and shapes; will reinforce the
use of regular ---ar verbs and will be introduced to the regular verbs ---er in present indicative. He or she will talk
about plans to do activities with the formula IR + A + infinitive and will expand his or knowledge of the adverbs.
Will reinforce the use of the verb SER for descriptions and to talk about materials; will learn the use of the verbs
TENER and QUERER to refer to pets and will learn to locate objects and living beings. He or she will learn to use the
verb PONERSE in the context of clothes. His or her knowledge and comprehension of the Hispanic-American
culture will increase.
Level B1: Repaso de verbos ---AR --- ER, ser --- hacer --- estar + tiempo, adverbios un poco, mucho afuera y adentro,
adjetivos demostrativos, posesivos enfáticos, gustar, divertirse y aburrirse, a mí también / tampoco, ser + tiempo, ser,
trabajar en y hacer, tomar, comer y beber, querer y preferir.
At the end of the course, the student will identify visually and orally as well as read and write the names of the
months, the seasons; expressions about the weather and natural elements; will learn to say dates of birthdays and
names of objects and activities relates to parties; of some objects from class and places from school; vocabulary
from vacation and related activities; her or she will know how to tell time and to talk about schedules: Will also
learn vocabulary from professions and trades, work places and activities relates and from food in general. To talk
about these subject the student will review regular ---ar and ---er verb and the verbs TENER, HACER, ESTAR, QUERER,
PREFERIR, the verb GUSTAR and related verbs; will learn more about adverbs and will be initiated to the study of
the possessive adjectives. His / Her knowledge and understanding of the Hispano- American culture will increase.

Level B2 : Querer + sustantivo, pagar, ordenar y llevar, estar + localización, verbos --- IR,
imperativo, viajar, beber y escribir, manejar, comer y vivir, hacer, ser + nacionalidad, preguntas y
respuestas con operaciones aritméticas.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify visually and orally as well as to read and
write the names of objects and activities related to the restaurants, to the city, to means of
transportations, to some geometric figures, and to aspects related to traveling and vacations. He or
she will reinforce his or her knowledge of colors as adjectives and will learn some adjectives of
nationality. The student will advance in his or her knowledge of the numbers up to one thousand
and will learn to make basic arithmetic operations. At the same time, the student will learn to locate
countries and continents on the map with the knowledge of the cardinal points and the use of the
verb ESTAR.
The student will reinforce his or her knowledge of the regular verbs in present, of the verb ESTAR,
and of other verbs related to traveling and vacation. He or she will also learn how to give instructions
on how to arrive to a place using the commands (tú). His or her knowledge and understanding of the
Hispano-American culture will continue to grow.
Level C1 : Adjetivos demostrativos, pesar y medir, gustar, disgustar y encantar, jugar, practicar y
entrenar, ser y tener para descripciones físicas, estar + localizaciones temporales y ubicación, usos de ser
y estar, tener + sensaciones, mandatos simples, verbos reflexivos y números ordinales.
At the end of the course, the student will be able to identify visually and orally as well as to read and
write the names of objects and activities related with measures of the metric system, sports,
adjectives to make physical and personality descriptions, materials, objects from the bedroom and
bathroom, sensations and mental states and daily activities. To talk about these subjects the
student will learn related verbs, descriptive adjectives and demonstrative; the uses of SER, ESTAR
and TENER. He or she will also review the commands (TÚ) and will learn the ordinal numbers. His or
her knowledge and understanding of the cultural material will have increased considerably.
At the end of this last level, the student will have mastered the present indicative and its main regular,
irregular and stem-change verbs. He or she will have learned to work with the agreements among
subject, verb, adjective and noun and will have learned a considerable amount of vocabulary and
sentence elements in context. The student will have exercised his or her listening, speaking, reading
and writing of the materials introduced and will have learned to have conversation at basic level
taking as models the conversations of Situaciones and Comics.
