Hello! And Welcome at the MNYC 2017

Hello! And Welcome at the MNYC 201 7- Berlin
From 28 of June you and other youths from throughout Europe will be on a two weeks
exploration of Berlin and its sites.
MNCY means Multi National Youth Camp and this year there will be participants
from seven European countries.
Seven nation - that offers a lot of opportunities to improve your language skills.
Some claim that German can be a fun language, so they say, but in the Camp we stick
to English
You gonna be traveling in multinational groups and share an experience which is likely
to remember .
The next pages contain some useful information to help you to prepare for your
vacation.
You will be residents of a Hotel, usually used by well, elderly visitors. Therefore all
rooms have only double beds, which are inseparable. This inconvenience is well
compensated by the overall standards of the Hotel.
We, the team, are really looking forward to meeting You and all the other
participants of this years MNYC. See you soon.
Dirk, Vivian, Christian, Isabell, Julia, Jan Rolf & Bastie
Some information:
Luggage
Pack your belongings yourself, that’s the best way to know what you brought along.
Nametags on your bags and clothes will make it easier for you and us . . .saves time too...
Towels are at the Hotel and are being changed regularly. Please use them with care, we try
to be eco-friendly. Undoing makeup, use the dark towels, so less bleach is used while
washing. Beach towels are not included, so bring your own please.
Money
In Germany we use the Euro. 1,- Euro equals about 4,- Zloty (May 2016).Why do you need
to know that? We are Multi National and for some participants prices differ a lot. The
best will be to bring only small bills of money. As experience shows, 100 € pocket money is
sufficient .
And: all H&M`s in Europe are the same. There is no need to go into a ‘full shopping mode’.
Best get some unique souvenirs, not the things everyone has!
Clothing
Pack light summer clothing, because we all hope for good weather. Pack a hat/cap if you
tend to have sunburns. For all outdoor-activities you´ll need some comfy sport shoes.
Pack some raingear - just in case. We, the Germans, think of summer as the warm
season, well that’s debatable. If you come from a warmer country, please bring some
warmer things as well, because you may be chilling...
Valuables
Bundeswehr-Sozialwerk cannot not be held responsible for loss, damage or theft of
personal belongings. We know that you´ll bring your Smartphone, but please look after it
yourself! The same applies for chargers. No phone works on low battery if you lose your
charger. If you tend to lose thing, better only bring along a cheap camera or MP3 Player.
You know, there is a way of talking to each other in real life too! F2F. Offstring...
Alcohol, Tabaco and Firearms
Any form of Drug is forbidden. The same applies for Alcohol. Carrying any form of Weapons is forbidden.
Violating these rules will lead to immediate unilateral abolition of the contract between the Bundeswehr
Sozialwerk and your hosting organisation. This may result in sending you home at your own expenses.
