Dear Parents
SWIMMING LESSONS – SUMMER TERM 2017 – Y2 & Y3
All children in years 2 and 3 will be having swimming lessons in the summer term. The
lessons will take place on Monday mornings from 11-11.30am at Knaresborough Pool.
This year the cost of lessons will be funded through the school budget however we are
asking parents to contribute towards the cost of travel to Knaresborough. The cost will
be £3 per week and can be paid in total (£27) by Parentpay or in cash, alternatively
payment can be paid in instalments through Parentpay only. If any parents need help
with the cost of these lessons, please apply in writing to the Pupil Support Fund
Committee.
The dates of the lessons are:May 8th, 15th, 22nd
June 12th, 19th, 26th
July 3rd, 10th, 17th
These lessons are part of the National Curriculum. We offer them to every child
irrespective of his/her swimming ability. The lessons help to broaden the curriculum for
even the most able swimmer.
Please ensure that your child has their swimming costume and towel with them on
these dates. The pool management have requested that boys wear tighter fitting
swimming trunks and not swimming shorts for health and safety reasons.
The children will be accompanied by 2 members of staff. Two swimming instructors and
a lifeguard will be supervising the lessons.
Please complete the attached form and return to school in your Red Folder by Friday
