HASD Greenville Fiber Link - Frequently Asked Questions 1.) Is there a site plan for the New Building / Buildings? *** We will request a copy of the site plan from the architect and send them out upon request. 2.) Can you provide addresses of each facility to connect? Greenville Elementary School W6822 Greenridge Drive Greenville, WI 54942 *** The new elementary school and transportation building do not have an assigned addresses but will be located on the plot of land near County JJ and east of 76. Our architect to provide more specific location details. 3.) Is the Building Contractor going to have existing duct stubbed out of the new buildings? *** The transportation building will be erected by March 2014. I will confirm with the architect that the building contractor will provide a conduit from the exterior of the building to the transportation wiring closet. The elementary school building will be erected by Summer 2014. The fiber head-end equipment will be temporarily located in the transportation building until which time the new elementary school is built. The building contractor for the elementary school will include a conduct path from the transportation building to the new school MDF. 4.) Can we get a map of the current fiber network? *** We will provide you with a copy of our current fiber network map. 5.) What size existing fiber is used for the current fiber network? *** 24 strands of fiber. 50 namometer single mode. 6.) What size existing duct for current fiber network? *** 2” duct. 7.) What size duct should the new install be or direct buried? *** 2” duct. Fiber will be buried due to lack of pole rights. 8.) Do you want locate posts? *** Yes. 9.) Do you want handholes? If yes, is there a certain type or size. *** Yes, 24x36x24 vaults. 10.) How far do you want handholes spaced? *** Minimum of five vaults at strategic locations to reduce future fiber relocation costs. Please consult state estimates regarding road construction plans. 11.) Can we use existing duct if space is available? *** No, we do not wish to use existing duct as a way of reducing single-points for failure. We also wish to avoid existing fiber paths for the same reason. 12.) Does this project fall under prevailing wage requirements? *** Yes, based on anticipated costs for the project.
