Literature has been a defining part of culture since the beginning of language. The dangers of
modern times have led to the writing of dystopian novels – novels which warn of an unhappy
future. Many people think of dystopian literature as purely science fiction; while science fiction
is a natural fit for a dystopian story, NOT all dystopian books are considered science fiction.
Some of the most renowned dystopian novels are: 1984 by George Orwell, Fahrenheit 451 by
Ray Bradbury, Time Machine by H.G. Wells, Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
Carefully read “Wondercopy” by Ray Badbury. Then in a well-written essay discuss the
speaker’s attitude toward modern technology and analyze how Ray Bardbury employs literary
devices to address the dangers of a Dystopian Society. You might want to address the title,
