Learn how to use the windows operating systems, keyboard, mouse
and Microsoft Word ™.
Minimum or no expierience necessary. Bring flash drive.
Wednesdays 9 weeks $90
April 26-June 21
9:45-11:15am | COM92 Osteoporosis Workout
You’ll do the best exercises for osteoporosis (thinning of the bones)
to increase, strength and bone density and improve balance skills
to decrease the risk of falling.
Bring a set of 2lb ankle/wrist weights and wear sneakers.
Fridays 9 weeks $90
April 21-June 23 (No class May 26)
10-11:30am | COM09 Yoga & Pilates
Exercises in this course target the abs and back while also building
flexibility and improving balance.
Bring a yoga mat and yoga belts.
April 22-June 24 (No class May 27)
This ourse combines the stretching and toning benefits of standing
& chair Pilates as well as the fat burning benefits of low impact
aerobics all set to great music.
Bring 2-3 lb weights and sneakers to each class.
4-5pm | COM02 Aquasize
A water aerobic class geared to exercise without stress. Your “wet
workout” will be held in shallow water so that you can use all those
muscles.
Bring bathing suit, towel, water shoes and a lock.
Sundays 9 weeks $90
April 23-June 25 (No class May 28)
9:30-11am | COM42 Arthritis Workout
Gentle and full body exercises in and out of the chair for your joints
& muscles to increase their range of motion & decrease pain.
Bring 2-3lb weights and sneakers to each class.
11:45am-1:15pm | COM01 Dancing Fitness
11:15am-12:45pm | COM30 Dance, Tone & SlimDown Workout
12-1pm OR 1:15-2:15pm | COM02 Aquasize
1:15-2:15pm OR 2:30-3:30pm | COM02 Aquasize
This fun dance class focuses on cardio and core conditioning to all
your favorite music and the latest dance crazes.
Bring 2lb hand weights & dance shoes. No street shoes.
A water aerobic class geared to exercise without stress. Your “wet
workout” will be held in shallow water so that you can use all those
muscles.
Bring bathing suit, towel, water shoes and a lock.
This course combines fun dance moves with toning exercises using
resistance bands all designed to slim you down.
Bring resistance bands and dance shoes to each class.
A water aerobic class geared to exercise without stress. Your “wet
workout” will be held in shallow water so that you can use all those
muscles.
Bring bathing suit, towel, water shoes and a lock.

COM95 MANAGE AND ORGANIZE YOUR COMPUTER COM96 NUTRITION AND WELLNESS $30

Learn to manage & organize your computer files: save, copy &
paste, name & rename, delete, pin & unpin on task bar & desktop,
navigate the operating system.
Prerequisite: Basic computer skills. Bring a flash drive.
COM04 MEDITATION IN MOTION $50
Wed May 3-31, 2-3:30pm
Simple stretching exercises and brief guided meditation period
will comprise the first part of the sessions, while philosophy and
the practical implications behind the movements will be explored
in group discussion and lecture later. The movements will be done
standing or in a chair.
Wear loose comfortable clothing.
This course examines the relationship between food and wellbeing and empowers participants to develop their own lifestyle
prescription for good health. This is a holistic approach to
nutrition that emphasizes how all areas of life are interconnected.
Participants will become familiar with the theory of bioindividuality - the concept that no one diet works for everyone. They
will learn to make discerning food choices that will support their
physical and emotional health.
Bring a pen and writing pad.
Registration fee is waived for this program and FREE
designated guest parking is available on campus.
The National Council on Aging in collaboration with
Kingsborough Community College presents:
LIVE WELL-DO WELL-AGE WELL
The program is designed to offer participants 50+ yrs.
of age, the skills and tools needed to reap the benefits
of this cutting-edge wellness program. Participants
will achieve measurable improvements in Navigating
Longer Lives, Sleep, Exercise & You, Healthy Eating
& Hydration, Financial Fitness, Advanced Planning,
Healthy Relationships, Medication Management, Civic
Engagement, and Fall Prevention.
For each of these classes, we will provide basic
educational materials developed from highly trusted
sources, checklist of action steps, and a system for
tracking behaviors.
Participants will earn points for positive actions and
rewards and must be in attendance for a minimum of 7
out of the 10 classes in order to graduate.
