Electromagnetic Wave Mini Research Project
We have learned about the visible spectrum, but there are many other types of radiation given
off by objects in space. You and your group will research and share the following
information on your portion of the electromagnetic spectrum in a 3-5 minute Google slides
presentation.
 Describe the wavelength, frequency and energy of your type of radiation compared to
that of visible light.
 Explain where your type of radiation falls on the electromagnetic spectrum.
 List and explain at least 3 uses of your radiation.
 Explain what types of bodies give off your radiation in space. Also, describe why
your type of radiation is relevant to our astronomy studies.
 Determine and explain whether or not your wave is dangerous to humans.
You will compile all of your information on Google slides to be shared with the teacher and
accompany your presentation. You will be graded on both the quality of your slides and your
presentation. In addition to the required information above, see the rubric on the back of this
page when working on your presentation to be sure that you address all project requirements.
Our electromagnetic radiation is:
gamma
x-ray
ultraviolet
infrared
terahertz
microwave
radio wave
