Equivalent Fractions

Equivalent Fractions
Content Standards:
Write equivalent fractions
Communicate mathematical ideas
Task: You will use your fraction circles to identify what positions on the chart can be filled in with
equivalent fractions. For each equivalent fraction you find, write in the fraction on your chart. After
you have filled in the chart write any of the patterns you found.
As an example, the question, “Can you make 1/2 with fourths” has been recorded on the chart as
“2/4.” If the answer to a Can you make? question is “No,” put an “X” in that square.
