Cones from Bowls, Bowls from Cones

Activity
Cones from Bowls, Bowls from Cones
In Triple Scoops, you saw that many different ice cream cones could
be made from the scoops in a given bowl of ice cream. The number of
cones depends on the number of scoops involved.
These questions continue that theme. (You do not need to figure out
the number of flavors at each ice cream shop.)
1. At Francisco’s Freeze, you can make 465 different two-scoop bowls
of ice cream. How many different two-scoop ice cream cones can
you make?
2. At Paige’s Parlor, you can make 220 different three-scoop bowls of
ice cream. How many different three-scoop ice cream cones can
you make?
3.a. At Ashley’s Ice Cream Shoppe, you can make 210 different fourscoop bowls of ice cream. How many different four-scoop ice
cream cones can you make?
b. At Carmen’s Creamery, you can make 3024 different four-scoop
ice cream cones. How many different four-scoop bowls of ice
cream can you make? (Careful: This question and Question 4b
reverse the situation presented in the other questions.)

of ice cream. How many different five-scoop ice cream cones can

b. At Christopher’s Cones, you can make 55,440 different five-scoop
ice cream cones. How many different five-scoop bowls of ice
cream can you make?
5.a. In general, if you know how many bowls of ice cream can be
made with a given number of scoops, how do you find the
number of different cones that can be made of that size?
b. In general, if you know the number of cones that can be made
with a given number of scoops, how do you find the number of
