How to import your old Outlook calendar, contacts, tasks or notes into your new 365 profile The steps for importing items from your old Outlook profile are the same for calendars, contacts, tasks or notes. The steps below take you through how to import calendar entries but if you want to import something different, contacts for example, simply change which item you select in step 5. Step 1: On the ‘File’ tab of Outlook go to ‘open’ and click the ‘Import’ option. Step 2: Select ‘Import from another program or file’ option and click ‘Next >’ Step 3: Select ‘Outlook data file (.pst)’ and click ‘Next’ Step 4: In this step you should choose which file to import. The correct file should be selected by default but to make sure you can click ‘Browse…’ and select the most recently modified file which does not have the profile name you created when connecting to 365 for the first time. (See figure 2 – the most recently modified file is “Outlook” and it does not contain my new profile name “365”.) This step also allows you to choose what to do with duplicates (figure 1). As you should be importing into a new empty calendar any option should be fine. Once you’ve made your selection click ‘Next >’ Figure 1 Figure 2 Step 5: In this step select ‘Calendar’ from the list and click ‘Finish’. You should now find all your existing calendar entries have been imported.
