ABOUT THE COMPANY
This Mumbai-based Group, which has five companies under
its aegis, is engaged in manufacturing of plastic toys, board
games, and toy guns that are used during Holi and Diwali
festivals. Headquartered in Kandivali industrial estate,
Mumbai, the Group has various manufacturing and assembling
locations across the city.
Its flagship company mainly focuses on trading and marketing
of toys manufactured by the other four subsidiaries of the
Group, which are mainly the manufacturing and assembling
units. It purchases the final finished goods (toys) from the
other sister concerns. These sister concerns are also located in
Mumbai and follow a mix of 'made-to-order' and 'made-to-stock'
production cycles, and are engaged in procurement of raw
materials and manufacturing activities.
CHALLENGES THAT NEEDED A

Though the flagship company had simple business
processes, as the volume of transactions grew, they realized
that they had to become more system-driven.
A system was required to effectively monitor and ensure
product quality, error-free computation of taxes and excise
duty. There was a need to streamline the sub-contracting
process and establish successful by-product tracking
mechanisms.
Another challenge was to manage the fluctuation in demand,
since the sales tended to be high during festive periods and
drop drastically during non-festive times. Apart from this, a
system was required to record and manage different discount
schemes that were announced from time to time to boost the
sales.
The company also needed to effectively find out profitability
across different products. It was looking for a system, which
