President’s Message
"April showers bring May flowers." With the amount of
rainy days we experienced in April we should have
bounteous wild and garden flowers to last all of spring
and summer. May flowers are here at last.
While June is sprinkled with field trips, fun days, outside
gym, final book fair which are all wonderful and
something to look forward to - May is our last full month
of school. Not to say that May isn't a fun month.
Starting May 1st David Suzuki has a 30/30 nature
challenge for families and schools. For 30 days enjoy an
outside activity for 30 mins. a day. Walk to school, play
on the playground, ride your bike, use your imagination
PAC Parents Needed
the possibilities are endless. #30/30 nature challenge.
With the flowers May also brings our super fun year end
PAC sponsored carnival. Mark your calendars and bring
the family, May 14th come rain or shine this will be the
best ever woodland park spring carnival. This carnival is
run and organized by volunteer parents if you can donate
any time on the day drop the carnival organizers an email,
they will more than likely have a job for everyone.
This May walk to school, if you drive park a little further
away that way you can take time to be outside and enjoy
May flowers.
Thank you April

Get ready for summer reading with Woodland Park's final year
end book fair. It is a BOGO event - Buy One Book & Get the 2nd
Book Free!
Scholastic donates 10 percent of the proceeds in books to local
children's charities. Our kids buy one book and get a second for free.
Please volunteer your time, help at the fair, buy a book, let's put
books in children's hands for summer reading - for literacy.

Proposed Kindergarten Playground
Thank you the parents that attended the April
27th PAC meeting. Unfortunately, without a
Fundraising Co-ordinator, Hot Lunch
committee and parents to run school
fundraisers for next year, it was not possible
to commit to this project.
Hopefully, parents will fill these roles in June
for the 2015-2016 year and this can be
evaluated again in September.
With the current flu season, please remember to encourage students to wash their hands
throughout the day. Please keep students who are unwell at home until they are feeling better.
