Google Images can be used for collecting Examples of public art from around the world. Pictorial Decorative Maps Cartography is the art of map making. People who make maps are called cartographers. The task is to create an old-fashioned treasure map style. These are drawn from an oblique angle. An oblique map is, ʻneither parallel nor at right angles to a specified or implied line; slanting.ʼ – Google Definition. This type of map was made famous by Erwin Raisz. These maps are decorative and not realistic. Images are not drawn to scale and simply represent rather than accurately portray features. For example an image of six trees will represent that there is a forest in that area. (Only 40c each online.) Role Play Games: 1. Transport Students are given cards that tells them who they are and where they need To go. The class works through two scenarios, one where cars create grid lock and the second where order is created through public transport. 1. Internal Migration Students are given a card that tells them who they are. They are asked to move at stages in the role play.
