THE MINI-TIME MACHINE PRESENTS
How To
Create a Mini
wall Clock
MATERIALS AND SUPPLIES:
• bronze or nickel colored metal button 11/8”
diameter
• clock face template printed on cardstock
• scissors
• Tacky glue (note:Tacky Glue has a strong bond and
dries clear. It is the best glue for this project.)
• 1 brad (note: the brad we used is 1.5” long with a
7/16” diameter head)
• pencil
• diagonal wire cutters
• tweezers
• black permanent marker
INSTRUCTIONS:
Print the clock template on page 2 onto cardstock and cut out. Position the
clock face on the flat side of your button and glue in place with Tacky glue.
Set to dry.

To make the clock hands: Using a pencil, mark the ends of the arms of a brad
to the following lengths: One arm at 5/16” long from the pointed end of the
brad arm (this will be the minute hand) and the other arm at 3/16” (this will
be the hour hand).
Using a diagonal wire cutters, trim the length of the brad arms so that they
taper from one end to the other to form the shape of the clock hands. They
should be approximately 1/16” wide at the base. (See illustration.)
Cut the trimmed “hands” to the measured lengths. Once you have cut out

your “hands” position them on the face of the clock. Place a drop of
Tacky glue at the center of the clock’s face. Using tweezers, pick up
the minute hand and carefully position it on the clock with the wide
end at the center of the face and the tip pointing to the minute of
your choice. Let the arm dry.
Once dry, put a drop of Tacky glue on top of the minute hand at the
center of the clock face. Pick up the hour hand with the tweezers and
position the wide end of the hand on the glue with the tip pointing to
the hour of your choice. Set to dry.
Then use the black permanent marker to make a dot on top of the
hour “hand” at the center of the clock to create the illusion of the
pivot point.
CLOCK TEMPLATE:
* You need only one clock face for this project, but we have included three to print at once, just in case.
