Procedure to Amend By-Laws
1. Any member or trustee can propose a change to the by-laws.
2. The proposed amendment is submitted to the Board of Trustees for consideration.
3. The Board of Trustees will refer this to the Policy and Resolutions Committee for study and
research.
4. The Policy and Resolutions Committee will study and research how the proposed amendment
will affect the association and its operations.
5. The Policy and Resolutions Committee Chair will report the committee’s findings back to the
President’s Council within 30 days of the proposed amendment being referred to the
committee.
6. Within 30 days following the report to the President’s Council, the Board of Trustees will vote on
the proposed amendment and must receive a 2/3 majority vote in the affirmative to amend the
by-laws.
