Welcome to Mexico!!
Arrival in the Benito Juárez International Airport, and then you will be transferred to hotel by private car to
check in. You will have rest of the day at leisure.
Accommodation: Hotel in Mexico City for 4 nights
Breakfast will be served at your hotel.
After breakfast, you will join a Half Day City Tour in Mexico City (approx. 5 hours):
The city tour begins with a panoramic tour of the Reforma Avenue. We then take Juárez Avenue to
get to the Zocalo for a visit of the Cathedra and the National Palace where we can see some
impressive Diego Rivera frescoes in which the most important historical events of Mexico are
represented. Visit of the ruins and the last remnants of the Aztec empire attached to the huge
archeological site where the foundations of the temple were accidentally found in the 1970s.
Later, we visit the Buenvista Craft Center and we get a panoramic tour of Chapultepec urban park
surrounded by residential areas such as Lomas de Chapultepec that is the wealthiest district in the
city nearby Chapultepec, and we can see walled off mansions where famous Mexican people live.
In addition to the city tour around Mexico City we proceed with the visit to National Museum of Anthropology
(not scheduled on Monday) where the guide explains ONLY the main hall and we get a few minutes to
admire the museum's contemporary architecture known worldwide for its famous "umbrella".
You have rest of the day at leisure.
Enjoy the whole day at leisure to explore the fascinating capital of Mexico and its surroundings.
We recommend the following excursions/tours:

Full Day Excursion to Taxco and Cuernavaca: (approx.10 hours)
Departure to Cuernavaca from the south of the city taking the modern highway (We will arrive
Cuernavaca in about 1 hour).We then head to Buganvilias City, also known as "The City of Eternal
Spring" for its warm climate, and visit the cathedral built as a mission in 1552 and changed to the
status of cathedral in 1891 (representing the time of viceroyalty).
We continue our journey through winding roads to the Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains,
surrounded by valleys and forests of pines and we go into the mountains of Guerrero State to reach
the picturesque colonial mining town of Taxco, known as the City of Silver. We visit the famous
church of Santa Prisca (it is said it was built with silver from Taxco). We spare some special time to
visit their silver shops walking through its plazas and cobblestone streets, framed by rustic and
picturesque red roofed houses that have been subject of inspiration for countless artists.
At 5:00 pm, we return to Mexico City and our arrival is scheduled around 8:00 pm

Half day tour to Xochimilco and National University: (approx.5 hours)
Tour begins with the panoramic tour of Plaza de las Cibeles, the World Trade Center, the bullfighting
plaza, and Insurgentes Theater to get to Ciudad Universitaria (UNAM CAMPUS) where we see the
great library, the stewardship tower and the Olympic stadium where a mural of famous Mexican
painter Diego Rivera is shown.
Later, we continue to Xochimilco to take a vividly-colored boat called “trajinera” that takes us through
the mystic canals of Lake Xochimilco, and the short cruise takes about 50 minutes.
The following part is not scheduled on Monday, and on Saturday we might add a visit to the
Saturday’s Bazar:
In addition, we continue to what was formerly the town of Coyoacan. This place is now part
of the great Mexican capital city and it fascinates for its great heritage of colorful colonial
architecture. We Visit the Church of St. John the Baptist and Frida Kahlo's museum, also
called Casa Azul; it is the former house of the painter full of some of her works, many of her
personal artifacts and where Frida also lived with her husband Diego Rivera. Here you get
some free time to walk around Plaza Hidalgo and enjoy the cafés or visit the popular market
in this neighborhood.

Half day tour to Guadalupe Shrine & pyramids of Teotihuacan (approx.7 hours)
Tour begins with panoramic tour to Plaza de las Tres Culturas, then we continue the tour in the
Basilica, It is the shrine that guards the shroud of Our Lady of Guadalupe. We get a general
explanation from the court (to admire the ancient Basilica) and we get a general review of the new
Basilica. We continue along the modern highway to go directly to the archeological zone of San Juan
Teotihuacan, we visit an obsidian workshop where you can see the process of maguey plants and
obsidian pieces. Then we visit the archaeological site where we get some time to climb the
impressive Pyramids, visit the Palace of Quetzal-Mariposa, The Temple of the Feathered Serpent,
and the Street of the Dead, if you prefer you can be taken to a restaurant for lunch (not included).
Besides excursions/tours, we also have the following shopping suggestions:

PLAZA DEL ANGEL IN ZONA ROSA (Hour: Open daily from 10:00 AM to 07:00 PM)
Also known as the Mercado Londres, this antiques center is a concentration of fine shops within the
Plaza San Angel, a large pink neoclassical building. You could also pass the best part of the day
looking (and buying!) great things at the Mercado insurgents. On Saturdays, there is also a flea
market where you can buy all sorts of goodies. On Sundays, bookworms come here to buy and sell
their wares.

LA LAGUNILLA
La Lagunilla market is a fantastic place for those looking for furniture, clothing, toys, records, books,
and accessories from the Twentieth century. Arrive early and bring cash

LA CIUDADELA (Hour: Open daily 10:30-18:30)
This large market is one of Mexico City’s best places to find arts and crafts under one roof. The
history and the friendliness of the market owners and craftsmen will make you love this place. You
can find anything from silver jewelry, lamps, scarfs, Mexican tin ornaments, day of the dead, Frida
Kahlo and also there’s some huichol Indian crafts sold there too.
Breakfast will be served at your hotel.
Check out and then you will be private transferred to the airport for your return flight.
